The Product Specialist in Technical Support provides expert guidance and training for Mitutoyo measurement tools to customers, distributors, and internal teams, handling troubleshooting, applications support, and updating product information. The role also involves creating knowledge resources, identifying sales leads, and supporting product launches.
Position Summary
The role focuses on delivering technical assistance and training for Mitutoyo products, addressing questions, diagnosing issues, and keeping product details accurate across manuals and knowledge bases to support customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support for Mitutoyo instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, CMMs, vision systems, and surface roughness testers to customers, distributors, and sales staff.
- Support product applications, troubleshoot problems, and help clients choose the right Mitutoyo solution for their needs.
- Review new products and engineering updates from Japan to verify accuracy and maintain current product information.
- Lead training sessions for sales support teams on new and existing Mitutoyo offerings.
- Coordinate with other departments to stay aligned on new releases and product improvements.
- Check catalogs and bulletins for accuracy in technical specifications.
- Represent the company at trade shows as needed.
- Maintain reference libraries of product manuals and assist staff or customers in obtaining documentation.
- Document and submit monthly activity reports.
- Participate in sales and product training sessions as required.
- Create Knowledgebase articles and related documentation to support self-service.
- Identify potential sales leads and forward them to the appropriate sales teams.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree or equivalent education

Schedule and Travel
Full-time role, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Occasional travel to support field service and sales activities.
