Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) is seeking an IT Support Technician to keep day-to-day technology running smoothly for teammates onsite in Murfreesboro, TN. In this role, you will support hardware and software needs with a focus on dependable, safe operations and strong member service, with an emphasis on workstation and peripheral support.
What you’ll do
The IT Support Technician plays a central part in promoting maximum service by supporting MTE teammates’ hardware and software needs in a way that supports affordable, reliable, and safe electricity alongside outstanding member service. The work includes maintaining workstation support and related peripherals so employees can stay productive.
What you bring

- At least an associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or successful completion of TCAT’s Information Technology program, or four years of related experience.
- Must have one active certification from the list below (equivalent or higher-level certifications are acceptable).
- Good understanding of computer workstations, printers, and other peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, and scanners.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to participate in on-the-job training.

Senior-level expectations (reclassification)
Reclassification to the senior level requires at least two (2) years of satisfactory job performance, the ability to diagnose and correct complex technical problems, independently manage IT projects, obtain at least three (3) advanced certifications from the list above, and receive supervisor recommendation. The employee must also demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
