Job Description

Join Miles IT as a part-time onsite IT support and consulting specialist serving small to medium-sized business customers across the Metro Area near Sidney, OH. This role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting and technology implementation with support from remote personnel, with recurring onsite assignments scheduled every other week.

Because hours are not guaranteed, the position is designed to support occasional supplemental income rather than a consistent monthly schedule. You will travel to customer sites within the Metro Area when onsite presence is required.

Role Overview

Provide onsite support and technology implementation services for business customers in the Metro Area.
Work alongside remote personnel to resolve issues and complete technology tasks.
Handle recurring onsite assignments at a client site every other week.

Responsibilities

Visit customers in the Metro Area when onsite support is needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve computer and network issues with assistance from remote personnel.
Implement new technology with assistance from remote personnel.
Identify technology solutions based on analysis of customer support needs.
Maintain strong, consistent communication with customers.
Document work performed and other relevant technical information for clients.

Requirements

Ability to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues for both desktops and servers.
Experience installing and troubleshooting on WinXP, Windows7, and Win2003/2008 Server.
Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and DNS.
End-user and help desk experience with the MS Office Suite and common desktop applications.
Experience troubleshooting network-related issues involving infrastructure such as switches and routers.
TCP/IP configuration on networks and troubleshooting TCP/IP issues.
Certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, or CCNA are a plus but not required.
Live within close proximity of the Metro Area for which you are applying.

Schedule and Request Frequency

Hours are not guaranteed; recurring onsite work occurs every other week.
Request frequency varies by location, ranging from once per month to once every three months in low volume areas.
Most requests occur during business hours, with occasional after-hours requests.
Requests are flexible with no penalty for being unavailable for a specific task.

Compensation

$30.00 per hour
Hourly compensation is provided even during travel to the customer site.
Minimum of $100 per job
