Express IT Solutions, a locally owned Managed IT Service Provider delivering dependable IT support across Central New York for more than two decades, is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Fayetteville, NY team. This full-time, onsite role targets an early-career IT professional who can diagnose hardware and software issues, set up computers, and provide remote, in-shop, and occasional on-site support to business and residential customers. Compensation ranges from USD 22 to 25 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware and software issues
- Set up, configure, and deploy new computers and related equipment
- Perform Windows installations, updates, data transfers, and system cleanups
- Troubleshoot printers, email, internet connectivity, and basic networking issues
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to business and residential customers
- Assist with Microsoft 365, user accounts, passwords, and common business applications
- Remove malware and help customers improve the security of their devices
- Document completed work, technical findings, and customer information
- Maintain an organized and professional work area
- Escalate more advanced technical issues to senior technicians when necessary
- Assist senior engineers with larger installations and IT projects
Requirements
- At least two years of hands-on IT support, computer repair, help desk, or technician experience
- Strong working knowledge of Windows desktops and laptops
- Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printers, and connectivity problems
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, switches, routers, and VPNs
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business software
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to nontechnical customers
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple service requests
- Willingness to learn new technologies and accept feedback
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional local travel
