The Microcomputer Technical Support Specialist is an onsite role in Hamburg, New York, delivering design, development, installation, implementation, support and maintenance of computer software, while supporting LAN and WAN environments, troubleshooting, training and network coordination. The position offers an annual salary of USD 68,500.
Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment by sharing workloads and responsibilities.
- Prioritize tasks and delegate workloads as appropriate to maintain workflow.
- Oversee the design, development, installation, implementation, support and maintenance of computer software.
- Demonstrated experience working in LAN and WAN environments is required.
- Maintain ongoing communications with supervisors and team members via email, voicemail and mobile devices.
- Assist in training users on LAN operating systems and LAN applications.
- Troubleshoot computer equipment for staff and students.
- Serve as the liaison between WNYRIC and the School District regarding in-network hardware, software and application issues.
- Familiarity with setting up and using Active Directory, Windows, Ethernet, TCP/IP, email, PCs, Macs and related technologies as required by the assignment.
- Coordinate with the WNYRIC Senior WAN Specialist to maintain optimal network performance.
- Assess hardware and software and present management with recommendations.
- Install, maintain, test and repair a variety of computers and related equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of Windows, Google and Apple operating systems and related peripherals.
- Ability to work independently with responsiveness, courtesy and timeliness when engaging with Hamburg Central School District members.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned to support efficient operation of the work unit.
- Maintain accurate records of work in progress and completed tasks, along with inventory control and asset management tracking.
- Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
