Job Description

The Help Desk Technician role at H. F. Lenz Company in Johnstown, PA provides first-line IT support and troubleshooting for basic hardware, software, and network issues on site.

Responsibilities

Deliver first-line support and respond to incoming IT requests via the ticketing system, email, phone, and walk-ins.
Diagnose and resolve basic problems across Windows and Mac OS, Microsoft 365, internal applications, printers, iPads, and mobile devices.
Assist with hardware setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktops, monitors, and mobile devices for new hires.
Create, modify, and delete user accounts as required.
Maintain clear and accurate logs of service requests in the IT ticketing system and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
Identify and escalate more advanced issues to system administrators or the IT Manager when necessary.

Requirements

Education and experience: an associate degree in IT, computer science, or completion of a technical certificate program is required.
Experience level: 0–5 years in a technical support role or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Technical knowledge: basic understanding of computer hardware components, Windows 10/11, and Wi-Fi/network connectivity.
Communication skills: strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Problem solving: a proactive approach to learning, troubleshooting, and developing creative solutions to technical challenges.
