Job Description

Chesapeake Containment is seeking an onsite, entry-level Help Desk Technician in Hickory, NC to deliver first-line IT support to users and provide strong customer service. The role emphasizes troubleshooting IT issues and guiding users through problem-solving steps.

Responsibilities

Answer user inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person
Diagnose and resolve typical hardware and software problems
Keep hardware inventory current and ensure records are up to date
Reset passwords and manage user accounts as needed
Investigate complex issues and escalate unresolved cases to senior technicians
Log procedures and solutions in internal systems
Offer clear, step-by-step guidance to users
Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor at all times

Requirements

Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service orientation with a focus on user satisfaction
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of computer hardware and software is beneficial
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness and ability to obtain CompTIA A+ Certification within one year
Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
