Job Description

Chesapeake Containment is seeking an onsite, entry-level Help Desk Technician in Hickory, NC to deliver first-line IT support to users and provide strong customer service. The role emphasizes troubleshooting IT issues and guiding users through problem-solving steps.

Responsibilities

  • Answer user inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person
  • Diagnose and resolve typical hardware and software problems
  • Keep hardware inventory current and ensure records are up to date
  • Reset passwords and manage user accounts as needed
  • Investigate complex issues and escalate unresolved cases to senior technicians
  • Log procedures and solutions in internal systems
  • Offer clear, step-by-step guidance to users
  • Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor at all times

Requirements

  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on user satisfaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to obtain CompTIA A+ Certification within one year
  • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
