Help Desk Technician
Job Description
Chesapeake Containment is seeking an onsite, entry-level Help Desk Technician in Hickory, NC to deliver first-line IT support to users and provide strong customer service. The role emphasizes troubleshooting IT issues and guiding users through problem-solving steps.
Responsibilities
- Answer user inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person
- Diagnose and resolve typical hardware and software problems
- Keep hardware inventory current and ensure records are up to date
- Reset passwords and manage user accounts as needed
- Investigate complex issues and escalate unresolved cases to senior technicians
- Log procedures and solutions in internal systems
- Offer clear, step-by-step guidance to users
- Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor at all times
Requirements
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on user satisfaction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and software is beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to obtain CompTIA A+ Certification within one year
- Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
