Job Description

The University of Iowa offers a collaborative, purpose-driven setting for IT professionals who support both clinical and campus systems. This onsite role in Iowa City focuses on advanced hardware support, configuration, and installation, with project administration and inventory/schedule management woven into everyday work. Responsibilities

Assess clinical site printer and device needs and select appropriate hardware to meet those requirements.
Plan, install, and document complex hardware and printer configurations for clinical systems.
Translate institutional knowledge into practical project plans and timelines.
Conduct proactive maintenance of equipment at UIHC, UI Community Connect, and other campus and off-campus locations.
Coordinate upgrade testing for systems at UI Community Connect locations.
Provide support to other teams within the division as needed.
Perform advanced analysis and resolution of hardware and software issues, including connectivity, security, and policy compliance across multiple locations.
Document findings and share insights with teammates to improve practices.
Maintain hardware standards for clinical devices and printer equipment, and enforce standard hardware request policies.
Promote best practices for hardware, software, peripherals, and IT services to all levels of personnel.
Develop documentation for complex installation processes and create procedures for supported hardware.
Keep accurate inventory records and properly document work in the ticketing system.
Assist with approved project implementations, providing project support and services.
May manage small projects or phases of larger IT initiatives spanning on and off-campus sites, including UI Community Connect locations.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and adapt schedules during go-live periods as needed.

Requirements

Typically 1 to 3 years of experience supporting workstations running Windows 10 and MS Office 2016/365.
Experience leading IT related projects.
Professional experience with desktop hardware and software in a managed workstation environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in an IT Service Center environment.
Ability to move and install clinical systems devices, computers, and printers.
A valid driver’s license and compliance with the University of Iowa Fleet Services Program rules and regulations.

Job Description

Join the University of Iowa in Iowa City as an IT Support Analyst or IT Support Consultant within the Extended Technical Support team. This onsite role centers on delivering direct end-user technical assistance, expert consultation, and user training, while handling fundamental design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of security patches and system integrity for Windows PCs and Macintosh systems.

Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot computer systems and network performance for operational problems and make recommendations for corrective actions.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills (including with technical peers).
Ability to routinely move and transport computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
