Job Description

Responsibilities
- Assess clinical site printer and device needs and select appropriate hardware to meet those requirements.
- Plan, install, and document complex hardware and printer configurations for clinical systems.
- Translate institutional knowledge into practical project plans and timelines.
- Conduct proactive maintenance of equipment at UIHC, UI Community Connect, and other campus and off-campus locations.
- Coordinate upgrade testing for systems at UI Community Connect locations.
- Provide support to other teams within the division as needed.
- Perform advanced analysis and resolution of hardware and software issues, including connectivity, security, and policy compliance across multiple locations.
- Document findings and share insights with teammates to improve practices.
- Maintain hardware standards for clinical devices and printer equipment, and enforce standard hardware request policies.
- Promote best practices for hardware, software, peripherals, and IT services to all levels of personnel.
- Develop documentation for complex installation processes and create procedures for supported hardware.
- Keep accurate inventory records and properly document work in the ticketing system.
- Assist with approved project implementations, providing project support and services.
- May manage small projects or phases of larger IT initiatives spanning on and off-campus sites, including UI Community Connect locations.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and adapt schedules during go-live periods as needed.
Requirements
- Typically 1 to 3 years of experience supporting workstations running Windows 10 and MS Office 2016/365.
- Experience leading IT related projects.
- Professional experience with desktop hardware and software in a managed workstation environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in an IT Service Center environment.
- Ability to move and install clinical systems devices, computers, and printers.
- A valid driver’s license and compliance with the University of Iowa Fleet Services Program rules and regulations.
