Job Description

STL is seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist to join its Bloomington, Illinois team for an onsite, hands-on role. The position centers on handling escalations and incoming tickets, taking calls from clients and vendors, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure reliable service delivery. You will diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues, install and validate operating systems and software, and help maintain procedural documentation while participating in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Provides escalation support and handles incoming tickets for the service delivery team as needed, aligned with availability
Answers support calls and communicates with clients and vendors
Diagnoses and resolves a broad spectrum of technical problems
Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Collaborates with other professionals to ensure deliverables meet organizational standards, policies, and procedures
Contributes to workflow optimization, risk management, and project requirements to support stakeholder objectives
Develops and maintains documentation for procedures
Assists other departments with additional tasks as needed
Participates in a rotation based on the on-call schedule

Requirements

Background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis
Experience with Windows PC and Server operating systems
Hands-on experience with Microsoft enterprise products and services such as Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure, plus similar platforms
Familiarity with cloud systems such as Microsoft Azure
Experience servicing Firewalls
Networking knowledge including OSI layers, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to work independently or in a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels
Reliable transportation
