Manager Engineering Technical Support – Level 1

In this 100% onsite role in Redondo Beach, CA, the Manager, Engineering Technical Support – Level 1 leads a hands-on manufacturing team covering antenna development, integration, build, and test from prototype through production. The position includes direct support for antenna hardware and electronics.

Role Overview

The manager will oversee daily technical support for antenna hardware and electronics, including radome, wing, and antenna assembly, with associated machine shop support. The role partners with RF and antenna design, Antenna and Electronics assy (M2N) test, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver on both flight and IRAD hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Use performance metrics such as yield, first pass yield, cycle time, and defect trends to improve processes and standardize work.
• Provide staffing, work assignment, coaching, and performance management for technicians while maintaining a safe, high-performance team environment.
• Oversee daily technical support for antenna hardware and electronics, including radome, wing, and antenna assy, supported by machine shop capabilities.
• Coordinate with RF and antenna design, Antenna and Electronics assy (M2N) test, quality, and supply chain teams to execute work on flight and IRAD hardware.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience.
• May consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• No clearance is required to start.
• 3+ years of experience supporting RF or antenna hardware or antenna electronics in development or production environments.
• Ability to support hands-on onsite work in lab and manufacturing settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in antenna development, antenna electronics, or RF hardware support.
• Experience with phased-array antennas, beamforming ICs, control buses, and embedded firmware interfaces.
• Active clearance, or ability to obtain one, if required for the role.

• Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time

Compensation

• Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $181,600.00 per year
