Information Technology Help Desk Level 1
Job Description
Entry-level Information Technology Help Desk role based in Janesville, Wisconsin, supporting day-to-day IT operations in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve end user issues across desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and shop-floor terminals
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of desktops, laptops, industrial PCs, and production-area equipment
- Support manufacturing and engineering software (CAD, CMMS, ERP, PLC interfaces, quality systems) and document recurring issues
- Maintain IT asset inventory with tracking, tagging, auditing, and lifecycle documentation
- Assist with network tasks such as cabling, port labeling, and installing network equipment under supervision
- Deploy software, operating systems, and updates; image devices for new or replacement users
- Support cybersecurity practices including MFA enrollment, password resets, endpoint protection, and phishing awareness
- Contribute to IT process documentation by updating SOPs, troubleshooting guides, diagrams, and knowledge-base articles
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including upgrades, automation projects, testing, and data collection
- Assist with data reporting and analytics by gathering metrics and preparing reports using Excel
- Other duties as assigned
