IT Help Desk Technician
Job Description
The IT Help Desk Technician role is based onsite in Tampa, FL and centers on supporting Windows desktop and server technologies, guiding clients, documenting tickets, and escalating issues as needed. This position is primarily help desk oriented with some server/network support and training activities. Compensation ranges USD 37,000–50,000 annually. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant experience in a 50+ user Windows environment.
Responsibilities
- Support Microsoft Windows desktop and server technologies
- Consult with clients and provide guidance on technology use and best practices
- Document tickets thoroughly and follow up with clients in a timely manner
- Escalate issues promptly when they cannot be resolved at the first point of contact
- Deliver fast and friendly technical support to end-users, IT managers, and C-level executives
- Typical Week: 85% help desk, 10% server/network support, 5% training/meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, business-related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a 50+ user Windows desktop/server environment
- Well-rounded experience with Microsoft desktop technologies and user support
- Experience supporting Windows and exposure to Windows Server technology, Active Directory, and common network protocols
- Motivation and drive for personal and professional development
