Job Description
Hoffman Construction Company is hiring an IT Helpdesk Support Technician for an onsite role in Lake Oswego, OR. This position supports 1200+ internal and external business technology users and plays a key part in keeping PCs, mobile devices, connectivity, and collaboration tools running for day-to-day work. What you’ll do
- Receive and manage technical support requests from internal users via phone, email, and an online ticketing system.
- Serve as the first-level contact by resolving issues related to hardware, software, and applications.
- Use available tools and established procedures to resolve problems within your expertise, and escalate when appropriate using HD procedures.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with end-users while providing quality support.
- Act as a liaison between users and internal support staff to ensure issues are accurately understood.
- Provide updates and maintain communication with users during the resolution process, including regular status communication for open tickets.
- Improve productivity through ongoing development of your knowledge level and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support special projects as required.
Core responsibilities and support scope
You will assist with general technology questions and expected needs tied to the use of company technology. Products and services supported include PC desktops and laptops, mobile devices, network connectivity, peripheral devices, printing and scanning, and file sharing and collaboration tools. The role also includes desktop application software support and conference room AV support. The work requires clear customer service, timely problem resolution, and follow-through on assignments.

- Proficiency with MS Office and MS Windows, plus hardware troubleshooting skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others in a challenging environment.
- Ability to triage and prioritize multiple issues at once.
- Familiarity with document editing/markup tools such as Adobe and Bluebeam.
- Ticket tracking system experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Schedule, physical requirements, and day-to-day conditions
The work involves a mix of sitting, standing, and walking. You must be able to climb stairs (approximately 20% of the day) and use hands/fingers constantly for computer and keyboard or mouse use. Hearing must be sufficient to communicate in person, over the telephone, and over radio, including hearing alarms on equipment. Vision requirements include acuity in near, mid, and far range, along with color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination. The role may involve lifting or carrying up to 50 lb (computer/drawings), with minimal bending, twisting, and kneeling/crouching/crawling.
Compensation
$60,000 - $70,000 per year
