Role overview

Weld County School District Re-8 seeks an entry level Computer Maintenance Technician to provide technical support for district technology, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems to support staff and student learning. This onsite, full time role is based in Fort Lupton, Colorado.

What you need

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or equivalent college coursework in a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software
  • Experience with operating systems and software including Windows 10, Chrome OS, Apple iOS, Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Adobe Creative Cloud, and security platforms such as Sophos preferred
  • Experience with workstation imaging processes (eg, FOG imaging system) preferred
  • Knowledge of networking components including firewalls, routers, switches, NICs, and cabling preferred
  • Experience supporting voice, video, and network equipment such as smart boards and VoIP systems preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned

Compensation and schedule

Hourly rate ranges from 20.88 to 37.68 per hour, depending on education and experience. This is a full-time, eight-hour-per-day position on a 240-day calendar. The role qualifies for health insurance benefits after a 90-day probationary period. The District will accept up to 25 years of relevant work experience for placement.

Location and work conditions

Onsite position located in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Start date is flexible; preferred start is mid to late July. Direct deposit of payroll is required. The district maintains a smoke-free environment and a Drug-Free Workplace policy. Compliance with IRCA work authorization requirements is required within 72 hours of employment. This is a year-round, full-time role on a 240-day calendar, with contracts subject to Board of Education approval.
