Service Desk Administrator
Job Description
The Service Desk Administrator at Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. is the first point of contact for employees who need technical assistance. This onsite role in Falcon, CO supports end users by managing service requests, maintaining documentation, and administering key IT hardware and applications.
Role Overview
In this position, you will receive and respond to employee requests for help through multiple channels, log and track issues in a service desk ticketing system, and follow through to ensure resolutions are completed. You will also support mobile devices and computer systems, maintain accurate technology asset records, and provide technical assistance and training related to your area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance.
- Respond to inquiries via chat, email, in person, or phone.
- Escalate requests when issues cannot be resolved directly.
- Follow up with employees to confirm full resolution of issues.
- Set up, support, manage, maintain, diagnose, repair, and document mobile devices, including cell phones and tablets.
- Enter request information into the service desk ticketing system.
- Produce monthly reports showing the status of all internal IT requests.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to administer applications and systems to meet business needs.
- Ensure technology assets are properly tagged and that the asset inventory is updated in the asset database.
- Configure and deploy new computer systems and mobile devices for end users.
- Monitor and follow up on service request and incident tickets, and communicate employee feedback or suggestions to the IT Supervisor.
- Author and oversee technical documentation, including user and admin guides, and routinely review documentation for accuracy.
- Participate in identifying and suggesting improvements to procedures.
- Provide clerical support as needed for Information Technology and Geographic Information Systems.
- Accurately document all work activities in the service desk system.
- Maintain inventory of software and hardware assets related to the position.
- Create detailed documentation for IT procedures within your scope.
- Provide training and technical assistance to hardware and software users within your scope.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in information technology (IT), computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience is required.
- One to two years of help desk technician experience is preferred.
- Prior experience with ticketing systems for issue tracking is preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to stay current with technological advancements and pursue advanced certifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using business software such as Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across various operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components (CPUs, RAM, hard drives) and peripherals (printers, scanners, tablets).
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) with troubleshooting capabilities for network connectivity issues.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, well organized, personable, and able to exercise discretion and sound judgment with people and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently to plan, schedule, meet deadlines, and implement programs and policies in a team environment.

Location and Schedule

- Schedule: Four-day work week (Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: USD 34 - 38 per hourly.
