Technical Product Support Engineer

Onto Innovation is seeking a Technical Product Support Engineer to deliver high-accuracy technical support for semiconductor products, tools, and platforms. Based in Wilmington, MA and working onsite, this role partners with internal teams and customers to resolve hardware issues, coordinate action plans, and help strengthen support processes across the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings deep field support experience and strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work in cleanroom environments and support installations through escalation, remote assistance, or customer site visits. In addition to customer-facing technical work, you will contribute to documentation updates, training, and New Product Introduction activities.

What You’ll Do

• Provide expert-level hardware support for the installation base through an escalation process, using remote support or supporting customers on site
• Develop and communicate clear plans of action and outcomes to internal and external customers
• Improve the support structure for existing products by revising documentation and feeding field-discovered quality issues back to design engineers
• Deliver on-the-job training to Field Service Engineers
• Provide Field Service input to New Product Development through design reviews and testing
• Support documentation development and qualification criteria during New Product Introduction
• Occasionally support field service activities in a Field Service Engineer capacity
• Remain in a stationary position for extended periods and position to access serviceable areas in a cleanroom
• Frequently move components or diagnostic equipment up to 50 pounds in a cleanroom environment

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Field Support Service
• BS in an electronics discipline or equivalent military experience in a technical field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong troubleshooting background with familiarity with PCs
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally with a current Visa or entry permission
• 40% travel required

• Base Salary Range: $83,360.00 - $125,040.00 (offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications)
