Technical Support - In Vivo
Job Description
Contract Technical Support - In Vivo role at Maxonic, located in Wilmington, MA, on-site, up to $24/hour, supporting nonclinical in vivo laboratory work under GMP compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory activities including reagent preparation, maintenance, monitoring, and routine testing of client samples.
- Primary testing areas include immunoassay methods such as ELISA and IFA, and hemagglutination.
- Assist in the receipt of samples to be tested.
- Prepare data forms for routine serology testing and record assay parameters as required by protocol.
- Ensure proper sample dilution is performed.
- Operate and maintain pipettes.
- Assist in preparing departmental media and diluents, including proper labeling techniques and storage conditions.
- Assist in ensuring an adequate supply of materials required for assays.
- Ensure raw data records are accurate, complete, correctly ordered, and meet protocol specifications and GMP requirements.
- Assist interaction with project managers and technical staff in planning and conducting serology assays.
- May support core IVB activities such as clinical observations and animal husbandry.
- Share responsibility for general housekeeping and maintaining inventory levels of departmental supplies.
- Maintain proficiency in all departmental SOPs with general knowledge of lab and production processes.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Associate degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: One to two years of related technical experience in a laboratory environment.
- Certification/Licensure: None.
- Skills: Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; attention to detail and accuracy; effective verbal and written communication; ability to communicate effectively in small group or one-on-one settings.

Physical Demands
- Regular movement inside the laboratory and use of a computer.
- Frequent standing and operating in a stationary position while performing tasks; frequent pipette use.
- Close vision required to inspect and interpret experiments and differentiate colors.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection are required.
Work Environment
- General laboratory working conditions with protective clothing (cap, gloves, scrubs, lab coat, safety glasses).
- Exposure to biological samples with risks of exposure to zoonotic diseases and biohazards; potential use of sharp objects.
- Noise level ranges from low to moderate depending on task.
