Field Technical Support Engineer

VinFast US is hiring a Field Technical Support Engineer to deliver on-site technical assistance for vehicle systems at service centers. In this role, you will support service center technicians and technical trainers by diagnosing customer vehicle issues, directing repair actions, and helping improve service readiness through feedback and early training.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle diagnostic requests in a structured and timely manner.
• Maintain a close working relationship with service center managers and technicians across the region.
• Conduct ad-hoc in-service center product training sessions, including technical information on upcoming system software releases, new feature implementations, or debug capabilities.
• Take ownership of service technician concerns and apply effective problem resolution skills.
• For officially dispatched cases, address service center technician problem resolution needs via phone or at the service center location.
• Report on each service center’s Quality of Service relative to overall service readiness.
• Use OBD-based diagnostic tools and apply knowledge to resolve vehicle system issues based on reported DTCs.
• Travel as needed (typical travel: [30?70%).

Primary Objective

The primary goal of the Field Technical Support Engineer is to diagnose and direct repairs for customer vehicles that service center technicians cannot resolve, or where issues show trends toward quality problems. This includes acting as an escalation pathway for unresolved or quality-trending cases and supporting territory management and product problem resolution efforts for VinFast.

Service Readiness and Training Support

In addition to vehicle diagnostics and repair direction, the role supports VinFast service centers by providing service readiness feedback and delivering early training on emerging technical support issues. The training and feedback focus on keeping service teams prepared for evolving technical requirements, including upcoming system software releases and new feature implementations.

Required Knowledge

• Knowledge of Powertrain, Modern High Voltage EV power systems, or ADAS systems.
