IT Support Specialist
Job Description
The IT Support Specialist delivers first-line technical assistance to employees at New Cibo Vita LLC in Totowa, NJ (onsite). The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-user technology, supporting onboarding and offboarding, and ensuring reliable day-to-day access to hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for employee technology support requests and coordinate issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hardware, software, printers, and connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, monitors, and peripherals.
- Escalate complex technical problems to the Senior IT Technician when additional support is required.
- Provide effective communication and customer service while assisting users through the troubleshooting process.
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts according to company policies.
- Support password resets, multifactor authentication (MFA), and access requests.
- Assist onboarding by preparing equipment, creating user accounts, and ensuring technology readiness for an employee’s first day.
- Support offboarding by collecting company equipment and disabling system access.
- Deploy and maintain company-issued laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets.
- Track IT inventory and maintain accurate asset records.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, warranty claims, and replacements, and assist with hardware refresh programs.
- Install and update approved software applications, and perform operating system updates and routine maintenance.
- Assist with software licensing and application deployments.
- Support Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Maintain printers, conference room technology, and network-connected devices.
- Help monitor system backups and basic network connectivity.
- Support WiFi troubleshooting and basic network issues.
- Assist the Senior IT Technician with infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- 13 years of IT support or Help Desk experience.
- Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- Equivalent technical training or relevant work experience will be considered.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
- Basic Active Directory administration.
- Computer hardware troubleshooting.
- Printer support.
- Basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, WiFi, and VPN.
- Basic cybersecurity awareness.
- Manufacturing or warehouse technology support experience is a plus.
