Regulatory Technical Support Engineer II

This onsite role supports regulatory product compliance for windows and doors by building technical expertise and advising customer-facing support teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and establish technical centers of excellence across regulatory disciplines, including:
  • Glass development
  • Structural analysis
  • Installation engineering
  • Packaging design
  • Thermal analysis
  • Structural calculations and analysis
• Develop complete, accurate understanding of industry, association, and supplier specifications
• Provide consulting to internal team members to support product compliance efforts
• Perform glass design and analysis, including:
  • Strength
  • Altitude and frequency considerations
  • Sound transmission
  • Thermal performance
  • Specialty glass evaluation
• Release new glass options aligned with business needs, technology direction, and supplier partnership goals
• Deliver structural engineering for new product development and incoming commercial jobs using structural calculations
• Maintain and support calculation tools, mull charts, and training content used by customer service technical support teams
• Lead installation design, engineering, and validation, including:
  • Cross-collection alignment
  • Wall and anchor analysis
  • Technical documentation leadership
• Establish a center of excellence for product installation
• Support corporate packaging goals across service and manufacturing segments through packaging design and analysis
• Integrate and support sustainable packaging initiatives as part of environmental strategy management
• Apply thorough knowledge of product components and designs, connecting how glass, installation, and packaging design affect product performance through the full product lifecycle (from specifying and manufacturing through installation, glass reliability, and warranty)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master’s or advanced degree preferred
• 3+ years of engineering design, product development and/or window and door regulatory experience
• Understanding of regulatory standards for the windows and doors market strongly preferred
• PE certification preferred
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software (Inventor preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Exposure to FEA/THERM software preferred
• Ability to problem-solve, train, direct, and communicate effectively
• Proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities

• $82,000 - $110,000 per year
