Job Description

This hybrid Technical Support Engineer role supports Futurex's global customer base on the 2nd shift, combining IT assistance with strategic business development for cryptographic security solutions from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am CT. The position is based on the Bulverde campus near San Antonio, TX with hybrid on-site and remote work options.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver ongoing technical support and guidance to Futurex customers worldwide during the 2nd shift
  • Test and troubleshoot new and existing hardware, software, and firmware designed for data security and encryption
  • Apply business insight alongside technical capability to craft advanced solutions that help enterprises protect sensitive data
  • Provide training to customers on Futurex products and data security best practices
  • Assist in shaping customer IT environments and offer project management services for tailored initiatives
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation released to the public
  • Understand APIs and industry protocols used when interfacing with external systems

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related IT field
  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, or a technical or business-related major
  • Broad information technology background
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to assist across multiple departments within the company

Strongly Preferred

  • Familiarity with enterprise data encryption technologies, including hardware security modules (HSM), enterprise key and certificate management, PKI, and tokenization for PCI DSS compliance
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking
  • Exposure to multiple architectures and platforms
  • Experience with OpenSSL, Linux, and scripting (Python, Perl, Bash)
  • Background in technical support, sales, or quality assurance
