Technical Support Representative

The Technical Support Representative at AlphaRex provides hands-on technical assistance for automotive lighting products, supporting customers, dealers, and internal teams. The work includes diagnosing lighting issues and leading callers through structured troubleshooting steps to address installation and product-related concerns.

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver customer service and technical support to customers and dealers by phone, email, and other company communication channels.
• Diagnose automotive lighting issues, including wiring, connectors, fuses, LEDs, turn signals, DRLs, resistors, and related components.
• Walk customers through logical, step-by-step troubleshooting to determine whether issues are related to the product, installation, wiring, or the vehicle.
• Handle warranty claims, replacement parts, and product-related customer concerns.
• Maintain and expand internal technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, FAQs, and knowledge-base materials.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn customer service, ticketing, and internal software systems.
• Ability to document technical information clearly and accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience and Additional Preferences

• Previous experience in automotive technical support, automotive repair, aftermarket automotive products, electronics, or a related field.
• Experience installing or troubleshooting aftermarket headlights, tail lights, LED lighting, or other automotive accessories.
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical support or service environment.
• Enthusiast-level automotive experience is welcome, including experience gained through personal vehicle projects.
• Strong interest in automobiles, automotive accessories, or automotive electrical systems is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems and wiring is preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position at AlphaRex USA headquarters in Irwindale, California. The role requires regular computer and telephone use, with occasional hands-on inspection, installation, or testing of automotive lighting products and components.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Compensation

Pay: USD $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Location: Baldwin Park, CA (onsite)
