Job Description
Robert Half is seeking a Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst for an onsite, long-term contract in Ames, IA. The role centers on hands-on end-user support, daily desktop operations maintenance, and resolving hardware, software, and access issues to keep teams productive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical assistance for desktops, laptops, and Windows-related issues reported by end users.
- Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and operating system problems using structured troubleshooting methods.
- Manage incoming service desk requests, document resolutions, and ensure tickets are addressed in a timely manner.
- Assist with user account administration tasks, including access updates and directory maintenance within Active Directory.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10 environments and related workplace technology.
- Escalate complex incidents when needed and collaborate with other support teams to restore service efficiently.
- Support end users in a help desk or desktop support capacity with professionalism and clarity.
- Apply working knowledge of Active Directory for basic user and access administration.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 systems.
- Perform structured troubleshooting for hardware, software, and user access issues.
- Operate within service desk ticketing processes and document issues accurately.
- Communicate effectively with users to provide clear, professional assistance.
Requirements

- Working knowledge of Active Directory for basic user and access administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 systems.
