IT Help Desk

B&B Specialties, Inc. is hiring an IT Help Desk technician to provide hands-on support for day-to-day technology needs at their Anaheim, CA location. This onsite role serves as a frontline contact for customers and users, supporting computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications while keeping documentation current.

What you will do

• Act as the first point of contact for customers and users seeking technical assistance
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
• Research problems using available and appropriate information sources
• Escalate urgent issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner
• Notify management of recurring and/or critical issues
• Maintain logs of help desk interactions and a knowledge base of common issues and relevant fixes
• Advise customers and users on appropriate actions and safe use of computers and peripherals
• Follow up with customers and users to confirm complete resolution
• Contribute to creating and maintaining work instructions and training manuals for new or revised hardware and software
• Help create and maintain standardized group policies across the network
• Assist with maintaining Active Directory users, groups, and overall network security
• Ensure software updates are installed, including Windows updates and antivirus definitions
• Verify that antivirus and backups remain viable
• Stay current on system information, changes, and updates
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the server room and with relevant computer wiring

Requirements

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or another relevant field (preferred)
• 1+ years of related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Certification in one or more relevant areas of IT expertise
• U.S. Person as defined in EAR
• Local candidates only

Compensation and location

Location: Anaheim, CA (onsite). Pay: USD 22 to 26 per hour.
