Job Summary

The IT Help Desk Technician works with Network and System Administrators to deliver technical support across the agency. You will be the initial point of contact for IT inquiries and will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, providing assistance by phone, email, or in person.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first line of support for staff IT questions via phone, email, in person, or digital tickets, delivering prompt and professional service.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and network problems across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Log, prioritize, and track cases to ensure timely resolution.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications such as Windows and Office 365.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory and related systems.
• Document support interactions, solutions, policies, and procedures to meet IT requirements.
• Support onboarding and offboarding tasks, including device setup and account provisioning.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, manage network backups, and monitor vendor invoices.
• Provide orientation, guidance, and training to users on new software and hardware.
• Ensure security patches are applied and software remains up to date.

Requirements

• Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related technical field from an accredited college.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• COMPTIA A+ certification is required.
• COMPTIA Network+ certification is preferred.
