IT Help Desk Technician

Commercial Electronics, Inc. offers an onsite IT role in Gate City, VA with a strong benefits package and a clear path for growth. You will be the first point of contact for employee tech issues, manage user accounts and access, deploy new computer systems, and troubleshoot hardware and peripherals. The position pays $22 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits, plus training to support ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage new user accounts, email, and system access
• Deactivate or remove accounts for departing employees
• Configure, deploy, and install new computers and software
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and peripherals such as printers, monitors, and scanners
• Provide first level technical support for employees
• Track and document issues and resolutions
• Coordinate with third-party IT providers when necessary
• Maintain inventory of computer equipment and peripherals
• Install connectors and manage cables required by the computer department
• Clean, reset, and dispose of old computer equipment

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good organizational and documentation abilities
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical staff
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed
