Job Description
Atrium Health seeks a Senior IT Tech Support Engineer to lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives, with a focus on M&A integrations and clinical technology environments, and up to 50 percent hybrid travel across the Carolina markets.
Responsibilities
- Enforce and apply architecture standards and governance, contributing to corporate policy input.
- Partner with cross disciplinary teams to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide consultation to streamline workflows and address information system or operational inefficiencies.
- Implement and uphold device security standards.
- Offer senior level guidance to end users on solution requirements.
- Escalate complex device or application selection decisions when needed.
- Oversee adherence to change control processes; guide team members; represent enterprise change control; document architecture and design decisions.
- Facilitate proactive communication among technical teams.
- Manage all end‑point devices, including desktops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Monitor and analyze the environment to prevent issues.
- Utilize tools, observation, and data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyze data to identify systemic issues and risks to prevent incidents.
- Collaborate with engineering to develop and execute corrective action plans.
- Guide technicians on software deployments using defined processes; serve as a resource for addressing environment deficiencies.
- Serve as the highest escalation point within Support Services for the most complex technical issues.
- Document fleet management activities to ensure traceability.
- Oversee all aspects of technical operations.
- Develop and execute coding and scripting to achieve operational imperatives.
- Apply DevOps best practices across operations.
- Provide enterprise‑wide consultation across the information technology environment.
- Document coding, scripting, and process re‑engineering efforts.
- Ensure incidents and service requests are resolved within defined SLAs.
- Analyze performance metrics to improve cost efficiency and service quality.
- Offer direct feedback on team performance, standards compliance, and technical proficiency.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and end users to convey strategy and execution.
- Act as the technical SME for site and regional projects of varying size and complexity.
- Develop and execute project plans; coordinate activities among team members.
- Coordinate project team meetings and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Escalate issues as required to appropriate channels.
- Serve as the top technical matrix resource within Support Services for cross‑team needs including technical, networking, security, and vendor resources.
- Ensure project documentation is completed.
- Manage escalation processes for the most complex issues.
- Provide SME guidance on software deployment, information security management, operations oversight, environment testing, procedure management, standards, and compliance.
- Regularly engage site service lines and operational leaders to understand new business needs, issues, or adoption barriers.
- Identify existing solutions or collaborate with engineering to develop new technology to solve issues.
- Serve as a technical expert across HIT Support Services in the technical review process.
- Define and oversee management of site‑based activities in information security, availability, testing, procedure management, compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
- Represent the site on system‑wide enterprise technical oversight committees.
- Collaborate with core technology owners to enhance adoption and measure optimization goals.
- Ensure core application and local site technology training is available and team members maintain competency.
- Foster a culture that continuously embraces new technology and advancements.
- Coordinate and guide staff onboarding to ensure new hires become productive quickly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent knowledge).
- Typically 5 years of experience in a complex IT environment with design, installation, and support responsibilities.
- Ability to understand complex requirements and multi‑platform integrations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of various hardware platforms, architectures, and operating systems.
- Strong project planning and management capabilities.
- Experience with automated software deployment and device management tools.
- Proficiency in application programming and/or scripting, DevOps practices, and database administration.
- Active Directory experience including group policy creation/administration and user and device management.
- Microsoft Office productivity suite proficiency.

Compensation
- Pay range: $47.50 - $71.25 per hour
