System Administrator II (Help Desk)

AVIT Systems is seeking a System Administrator II (Help Desk) in Manassas, VA (onsite) to help keep the DTRA IT computing environment secure, available, and operating reliably. This role supports secure, dependable operations through a 24x7x365 NOSC model, with a focus on vulnerability management, patching, monitoring, and coordination across cybersecurity and systems administration teams to sustain large-scale server and user operations.

What you will do

• Deliver day-to-day support and systems administration for the DTRA IT computing environment, helping ensure current and evolving DTRA IT services remain reliable, secure, and efficiently available.
• Provide 24x7x365 NOSC support for the Agency in accordance with Defense Agency NOSC requirements and applicable DoD Directives.
• Maintain real-time situational awareness of DTRA IT infrastructure and supported environments, and lead restorative actions to keep all networks up and operational.
• Support NOSC systems administration work including vulnerability management, continuous monitoring of infrastructure equipment, and applying patches while coordinating with Systems Administration to sustain operations across 1,300+ servers on three enclaves.
• Coordinate with government and teams responsible for Cybersecurity Support Services (Task Order 2) to ensure security upgrades, patches, configurations, and logging are implemented with priority aligned to exposure to potential cybersecurity threats.
• Support multiple computer networks at varying levels of security classification.
• Plan, manage, back up, troubleshoot, repair, install OEM and security patches and upgrades, and monitor the health of DTRA Server and Storage infrastructures to support continuous access for DTRA partners.
• Provide application support to various DTRA offices as designated in Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
