Tech Support Supervisor

The University of Louisiana at Monroe is seeking a Tech Support Supervisor to oversee support and day-to-day operation of campus computer systems in Monroe, LA. This Tier 2 role includes managing key technical workflows while providing supervision to the Lab Coordinator and the A/V Classroom Coordinator.

What You’ll Do

• Manage technology deployment and coordinate new purchases for computers, printers, and mobile devices.
• Create, maintain, and deploy software images for campus-wide systems and lab environments, supporting both Mac and PC.
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to obtain quotes for new PC purchases and new printer purchases from Dell and Apple.
• Maintain regular contact with academic departments to ensure computer-based needs are met, including computer updates as required.
• Create new computer specifications aligned with current technologies.
• Coordinate software installations and ongoing support with faculty and staff when specific software requirements apply.
• Recommend procedures to enhance use of academic computing resources.
• Coordinate warranty and repair requests from Dell and Apple, including maintaining current Dell Certified System Expert status to perform authorized warranty repairs and ensure other selected technicians maintain the same capability.
• Monitor and evaluate end-user systems for performance, applying technical skills developed through training and experience.
• Plan and implement campus-wide PC management policies.
• Maintain and monitor Verizon mobile phone accounts and order mobile devices as needed.
• Supervise the Lab Coordinator and the A/V Classroom Coordinator positions.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of real-world field experience in a technical based background.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows 11, Windows Server, and MS Office; experience with lab imaging software; and knowledge of Apple OS (preferred).
• Experience with Active Directory and remote management software (preferred).
