Technical Support Consultant

Based in St. Louis, MO, this onsite role positions you as the technical specialist for commercial door hardware applications, delivering expert guidance to Hager Companies’ internal teams, distribution partners, and the architectural community. You’ll provide technical product training, assist with product selection and application guidance, and help launch new products while offering refresher courses across assigned product lines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical product support to distribution partners, end users, and internal sales teams by phone, email, and chat.
• Serve as the technical liaison among Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, architects, owners, contract distributors, and other channel partners.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as bulletins, installation instructions, and other support materials for catalogs and the Hager website.
• Develop and curate technical content for use by sales and customer service teams.
• Handle product quality claims, coordinate replacement orders, and oversee inspections of returned merchandise (RMAs).
• Conduct competitive product cross-references using catalogs and online sources to identify the closest Hager equivalent.
• Assist Customer Service Coordinators with order-related technical questions and escalated customer inquiries.
• Prepare quotes for modified or custom hardware solutions, including matching against competitive products.
• Enter keying requirements for basic key systems, including keyed-alike and master key configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent blend of education and experience in mechanical or electrical fields.
• Minimum of three years in a technical support or field role, or in a customer service position focused on product support.
