Technician, IT Support
Job Description
Join a publicly traded organization with meaningful connections, teamwork, and mentorship. In this on-site IT Support Technician role, you will support users across six North Carolina manufacturing facilities operating in fully automated, state-of-the-art environments that run 24/7.
The position reports to the Sr. Manager, IT Support and is based in Salisbury, Mocksville, or Sanford, NC. Regular travel to other facilities is required, supporting operations across the division (approximately 1,600 employees).
What You’ll Do
- Deliver customer service-oriented IT support across the division by reviewing and completing helpdesk tickets or redirecting tickets to the right support level or type.
- Maintain IT hardware and software systems to help meet Gildan standards.
- Keep hardware inventories up to date and prepare new equipment for deployment as needed.
- Support special projects or initiatives when required.
- Assist other IT teams by troubleshooting and performing on-site operations needed for maintenance tasks or problem resolution.
- Act as a point of contact for IT vendors at facilities when necessary, including providing support and supervision while they are on site.
What You Bring
- AS or BS Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related IT field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong proficiency in MS365.
- Up to 50% travel to support the North Carolina Yarn Spinning facilities, mostly day trips with limited overnight requirements.
- Ability to periodically climb ladders, operate lifts, and carry or transfer up to 50 pounds of equipment.
- Comfort working in a team-based environment.
- Vision and hearing required to perform job tasks, including reading, hearing instructions and safety warnings, and understanding communication.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
