Wireless Technical Support & Operations Specialist
Job Description
Total Wireless Data, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Wireless Technical Support and Operations Specialist to support customers and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly in a small wireless equipment business. This onsite role in Oklahoma City blends customer technical assistance with order processing, inventory support, and clear documentation of networking and business processes.
You will troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues, work directly with customers through multiple communication channels, and help manage the flow of orders and supplies. Along the way, you will document systems visually and in business tools so internal knowledge stays current as products and technologies evolve.
What you’ll do
- Answer customer technical questions and provide product information
- Deliver technical support by phone, email, and in-person to customers with varying technical backgrounds
- Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues, with cellular RF knowledge noted as a plus
- Represent Total Wireless Data, Inc. professionally to customers and vendors
- Receive, process, and ship customer orders and internal supplies
- Perform physical inventory counts and support reordering efforts
- Document the full order flow in QuickBooks (training provided)
- Handle boxes and items weighing up to 60 lbs regularly
- Create and maintain network diagrams using Visio
- Document business processes and technical information using Excel and Word
- Troubleshoot and maintain your own computer setup since there is no dedicated IT staff
- Self-educate on products, services, and emerging technologies
- Build proficiency in Total Wireless Data, Inc.’s product lineup including electronics, antennas, cabling, and wireless equipment
- Learn industry trends, with an emphasis on cellular and wireless communications
Core requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor with customers and colleagues
- Solid Windows OS knowledge and general computer troubleshooting ability
- Understanding of the OSI model (all 7 layers)
- IPv4 fundamentals including classes, subnetting, and CIDR notation
- Basic router and switch configuration
- Ethernet cabling and Wi-Fi basics (802.11 standards)
- Familiarity with common protocols: TCP/UDP, ICMP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, and ARP
- Ability to document networks visually
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems
- Ability to learn small-business processes and inventory management
- Proactive, self-starter mindset
- Physical capability to lift and move boxes/equipment regularly

Compensation and location
- Location: Oklahoma City, OK (onsite)
- Salary: USD 18–23 per hour

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with packet analysis tools (Wireshark)
- Experience with network segmentation (VLANs, DMZ, Port Forwarding, IP Subnetting)
- Basic understanding of IP services (NAT, DHCP configuration)
