IT Support Technician

EmployHQ is hiring an IT Support Technician to support a reliable, secure network environment in Elkin, NC (onsite). This full-time role focuses on practical network support work, including documentation and diagrams, troubleshooting network issues, and administering network infrastructure devices. The position also emphasizes confidentiality, dependable infrastructure operations, and close collaboration with IT staff across the organization.

What you’ll do

• Create network diagrams and documentation to support design and planning for network communication systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, implement security measures, and proactively optimize network performance.
• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices to keep systems operating effectively.
• Maintain a dependable and robust network infrastructure while upholding the highest degree of confidentiality.
• Work with and collaborate with all levels of IT staff both inside and outside the organization.

Requirements

• 2+ years of IT administration experience; a bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science is preferred.
• Experience with local and wide area network administration, as well as FedEx/UPS shipping software and Zebra printers.
• Understanding of computer network infrastructure and the role of workstations and servers; Linux background is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through issues and visualize solutions.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
