Customer Service Desk (CSD) Helpdesk Technician (Temporary)
Job Description
TekSynap is offering a temporary on-site assignment in Colorado Springs for a Customer Service Desk Helpdesk Technician. The role serves as the primary IT focal point for HQ USSPACECOM personnel, delivering frontline support for mission computer hardware, software, and LANs across multiple facilities. This position emphasizes prompt issue resolution, clear communication, and collaboration with system owners to address software or network problems. Responsibilities
- Act as the central IT support contact for HQ USSPACECOM, handling around 700 tickets each month
- Provide support via telephone, ticket submission, email, and in-person at Building 1, Newport, and Bayfield facilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site hardware and software issues that do not require escalation
- Coordinate with system or capability owners to resolve more complex software or network problems
- Track, assign, and coordinate tickets submitted by customers
- Provide status updates to affected customers and maintain historical records of resolutions
- Liaise with external maintenance agencies to isolate faults, restore service, and complete repairs
- Configure and troubleshoot military devices including desktops, mobile devices, and printers
- Coordinate with host-bases and service providers to manage IT requests
- Process ingress and egress paperwork for equipment and software entering or leaving facilities
- Maintain maintenance management continuity documentation
- Oversee daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
- Assign job control numbers and prioritize restoral efforts according to USSPACECOM standards
Requirements
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
- DCWF Work Role 411 (for example, CompTIA Security+)
- Experience with military IT systems and hardware
- Strong troubleshooting skills across a range of technical issues
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to resolve complex problems
- Experience with ticket management systems
- Ability to maintain required security clearances
- Willingness to travel as needed for meetings and training

Work Environment
- Location: Colorado Springs, CO
- Temporary Work Assignment: July 2026 through March 2027 (estimated). Dates are subject to change.

- Work schedule: Day Shift; Core hours 6:00am - 6:00pm. Nights, weekends and holidays may be required to meet contract needs
- Travel: Contractor may be required to travel within CONUS (<10%)

Wage Information
Target salary range: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors including education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract parameters, and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package.
