Desktop Support Engineer

Axiom Technologies is seeking an independent contractor Desktop Support Engineer to deliver first and second-level on-site desktop and IT support to end users at a client location in Elkton, Virginia. The role includes troubleshooting Windows desktops and laptops, supporting peripherals, and coordinating service request triage and dispatch. Spanish proficiency is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity problems, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures during onsite tasks.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
• Basic understanding of networking, including LAN connectivity and switches and routers.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in onsite support environments.

• U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders Preferred.

Work Model

• On-demand / field support role.
• Work assignments will be shared by the Service Delivery Team.
• Engineers will be contacted via phone or email when support is required.
• Engineers will receive site location, SPOC details, and reporting time before each assignment.
• No guaranteed number of working hours.

Location: Elkton, Virginia, USA (onsite).

Contract Type: Independent Contractor.

Start Date: Immediate.
