Job Description

Axiom Technologies is hiring an Independent Contractor Desktop Support Engineer for on-site, first- and second-level technical support in Kennewick, WA (onsite). This on-demand/field role focuses on helping end users quickly by troubleshooting desktop issues, coordinating next steps, and supporting a stable desktop computing environment.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
  • Triage, prioritize, and help resolve service requests in a timely manner by coordinating dispatch as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving Windows desktops, laptops, and associated peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
  • Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting, and perform basic checks using console access when required.
  • Assist with device setup, replacements, and hardware installations.
  • Document service activity and provide updates to the service delivery team.
  • Follow client IT policies and security procedures while completing on-site tasks.

What you bring

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing hardware.
  • Basic understanding of networking, including LAN connectivity, switches, and routers.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in on-site support environments.
