Job Overview
This position serves as the first point of contact for IT support, providing essential help desk support to address hardware, software, and network challenges. The role focuses on resolving incidents, assisting users, and maintaining the health of IT infrastructure in a dynamic workplace.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first-line technical support to end users through help desk systems, resolving issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and operating systems including Windows and macOS
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
- Log and manage support tickets using tools such as BMC Remedy or Jira, ensuring timely resolution and clear user communication
- Support networking tasks including LAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and Meraki devices to sustain secure and reliable connectivity
- Assist with Active Directory tasks such as user account creation, permissions adjustments, GPO application, and AD troubleshooting
- Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and maintenance on computer components and peripherals
- Support IT infrastructure including Windows Server environments and Linux systems for optimal performance and security
- Analyze technical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate with team members on network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP configurations and firewall settings to resolve connectivity problems quickly
- Maintain documentation of technical procedures, configurations, and incident reports to ensure knowledge sharing across the team
Requirements
- Proven experience providing IT or desktop support in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and operating systems including Windows 10/11 and macOS
- Hands-on experience with help desk systems such as BMC Remedy or Jira for ticket management
- Familiarity with networking concepts including LAN/WAN, VPNs, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and Meraki equipment
- Experience with Active Directory tasks such as user administration and GPO implementation
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues involving computer components and peripherals
- Knowledge of software troubleshooting across Windows Server environments and Linux distributions
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service oriented approach to technical support
- Analytical skills to diagnose complex technical problems quickly and accurately
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Support Technician are preferred but not mandatory
