Job Description

As a Technical Support Representative 1 onsite in Dallas, TX, you will be the first line of support for customers using ViaPath Technologies products. Responsibilities

Serve as an Ambassador for ViaPath.
Answer customer phone calls and help troubleshoot software and hardware issues over the phone.
Provide technical support for ViaPath products to customers, business partners, and internal employees.
Accurately document and record technical support calls and events in ticket and tracking software (call receipt, documentation entry, tracking, follow-up, escalations, and reporting).
Open and work problem issues and proactive tickets as escalated by other team members, and escalate issues that cannot be resolved using current knowledge.
Communicate with customers to maintain a comfort level that their issue is being properly addressed.
Participate in installation and upgrade activities for new and existing customers, collaborating with on-site technicians, customers, partners, and end-user customer personnel.
Support test, setup, and troubleshooting of client software installations, test platforms, and equipment.
Handle other assigned duties such as inmate request handling and data entry.
Complete training and then perform on-call work based on rotation.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
6 months to 1 year of experience in a high-volume Technical Support, Helpdesk, or Technical Call Center setting.
Proficiency in basic troubleshooting of industry standard software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) (required).

Job Description

At the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, TX, this part-time IT Help Desk Support role serves as the first stop for everyday technology questions and issues. This position is onsite and supports day-to-day technology needs across desktop and mobile environments, standard office software, and key business platforms. What you’ll do

Act as the first point of contact for all staff submitting day-to-day technology support requests.
Use established procedures for incident intake, triage, and escalation to the appropriate team members.
Troubleshoot and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and desk phones.
Assist with setup, configuration, and deployment of hardware for staff.
Support basic software installation and configuration in line with department guidelines.

What You’ll Do Overnight

Act as the primary point of contact for overnight customer incidents submitted through the DataBank portal or by phone.
Monitor and respond to alarms for both internal and customer systems, including proactive monitoring of production systems for performance issues, failed hardware, alert conditions, and other business-impacting events.
Troubleshoot issues across virtual platforms and virtual infrastructure, including vCenter and vCloud, and perform approved maintenance activities within the VMware environment.

Complete overnight service requests for account creations and modifications, including Portal accounts, Windows and Linux accounts, email, VPN, DUO, and FTP.

Execute approved patch management cycles for Windows and Linux server environments during overnight maintenance windows, including OS-level security patches, hotfixes, and cumulative updates using tools such as WSUS, SCCM, or equivalent platforms.
Validate patch deployment success, review system health after patching, and document outcomes for each patching cycle.
Coordinate with the day-shift team and follow the change management process to ensure patching activities are pre-approved and scheduled appropriately.
Identify patch failures or systems requiring remediation, and escalate unresolved issues with full documentation to the next shift.
Maintain patching logs and contribute to monthly compliance reports for customer environments.

What You Bring
