IT Support Technician
Job Description
Walter Surface Technologies is seeking an IT Support Technician (Level 1–2) to deliver day-to-day, hands-on support for end users at our site in Seneca, SC (onsite). This role is designed for someone who enjoys solving practical technical issues quickly, keeping users moving, and supporting both office and shop-floor technology.
What you’ll do
You’ll provide on-site Level 1–2 support for end users and troubleshoot issues across end-user devices, peripherals, and core business applications. In addition to standard workstation and laptop support, you’ll support connectivity and basic network scenarios, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and help resolve incidents and service requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Support end users with Level 1–2 assistance for workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software, including Microsoft 365, operating system issues, connectivity problems, and basic network issues.
- Support warehouse and shop-floor technology, including shared workstations, barcode scanners, label printers, RF devices, tablets, and related equipment.
- Install, configure, move, ship, receive, replace, image, and decommission IT equipment as required.
- Log, prioritize, update, and resolve tickets according to established SLAs, and escalate complex issues when needed.
- Maintain user communication through resolution while keeping ownership of requests from start to finish.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, asset management, documentation, and IT equipment lifecycle activities.
- Follow IT security policies, operational standards, and data-handling procedures.
- Participate in site IT projects, equipment refreshes, relocations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Join a rotating on-call schedule to support urgent business needs outside regular hours.
What we need from you
- 3–5 years of experience providing Level 1–2 IT support in a business environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows, end-user devices, peripherals, and standard applications.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office.
- Experience using ticketing systems and supporting processes based on SLAs.
- Basic networking understanding including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more.

Nice to have
- Experience supporting barcode scanners, RF devices, label printers, rugged tablets, time clocks, or production-floor systems.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, or endpoint management tools.
- Experience with PC imaging, hardware refreshes, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle processes.
