IT Technical Support Consultant
Job Description
Support the Secretariat’s Annual Meeting preparations with hands-on IT hardware support, user assistance, and event technology readiness.
Responsibilities
- Place orders and monitor purchases of equipment and supplies for the Annual Meeting.
- Update and maintain the inventory database.
- Prepare and coordinate shipment of equipment and supplies for the Annual Meeting.
- Organize and maintain the SEC storage area.
- Research potential purchases of hardware and software for Annual Meeting needs.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues affecting meeting operations.
- Configure and perform hardware maintenance and upkeep.
- Support the setup of the registration area and access control kiosks, including on-site assistance and other assigned tasks.
- Participate in testing and tune-up of new technologies, including facial recognition and mobile tools.
- Provide user support to SEC users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Systems Engineer.
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in IT and hardware administration.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written.
- Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
- Must be a citizen of one of the 48-member countries.

- No family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- Contract type: International consultant, Full-Time
- Duration: 03 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility)

Additional Position Information
- Works within Information Systems & Digital Innovation Section (ISD) of the Office of the Secretary (SEC).
- SEC supports services for the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors and Boards of Executive Directors (including internal committees), the MIF Donors Committee, and senior management.
- Meeting-related services are generally the responsibility of the department organizing the event, with the Secretariat providing advisory and logistical support as needed.
