Job Description
This onsite, part time role at San Antonio Independent School District supports desk-side IT needs, deployments, installations, repairs, and ongoing maintenance across campus environments for the 2026-2027 school year. The position focuses on ensuring stable operation of technology applications and equipment in a student-centered setting, with a starting hourly rate of $16.
Responsibilities
- Receive technology problems from a service desk representative or directly from clients.
- Provide basic knowledge in hardware, software, network, and telecommunication issues.
- Prioritize tasks and document the nature of each problem.
- Assist in the proper operation of technology applications and equipment.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrade tasks.
- Assist in non-complex repairs.
- Assist with new technology deployments and campus or department moves.
- Follow manual instructions for setting up computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Bag and tag technology assets at schools where construction is occurring.
- Provide information to support progress reports and status updates on problems.
- Assist in resolving technology support issues for employees that may require desk-side assistance.
- Keep informed of current trends and technologies.
- Perform other related duties within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency or higher.
- Up to 12 months of PC and technology support experience.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with computer installation.

Working Conditions
Work environment involves computers, software programs, peripherals, and related equipment in classroom and office settings. Frequent exposure to temperature and humidity extremes and noise, with occasional exposure to biological hazards such as bacteria, mold, and insects.
Physical Demands
Requires maintaining emotional control under stress, managing frequent interruptions and deadlines, and performing tasks that include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, and data input. May involve lifting or carrying light to moderate loads up to 44 pounds.
