Product Technical Support Engineer
Job Description
Support day-to-day technical needs for Field Sales & Service and Data Center Accounts while improving chiller product reliability through testing and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for key Data Center Accounts to the Field Sales & Service organization on a global basis via site visit, phone, fax, or email
- Drive product reliability using the Continuous Improvement Process for both existing products and new products being introduced
- Deliver technical support and partner with quality management and engineering to improve overall life cycle cost
- Create test plans to prove out new and/or existing product equipment offerings
- Maintain effectiveness through changes in responsibilities or environment (people, processes, structure, or culture) by exploring benefits, trying new approaches, and collaborating to make change successful
- Generate novel, measurable solutions for existing and potential customers (internal or external) by experimenting with new ways to solve problems and capture opportunities, leveraging technology, and encouraging coworker involvement in problem-solving
- Apply a high priority to the internal or external customer perspective when deciding and acting, including implementing service practices that meet customer and organizational needs
- Support organizational execution through operational discipline, role clarity, and performance transparency by focusing on critical priorities, measures progress, and ensuring accountability against metrics
- Set, document, and communicate clear work standards to improve performance using the fundamentals, and make results widely available and easily accessible
- Identify and understand problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information; establish decision criteria, generate and evaluate alternatives, and make timely decisions consistent with facts and constraints
Requirements
- Travel up to 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Technical/Scientific field and 2+ years’ experience
- If no degree: 6+ years of technical experience with knowledge of HVAC&R products
- Ability to analyze and solve complex product system problems
- Proficiency troubleshooting the refrigeration cycle as applied to air-conditioning duty on Applied Equipment
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Technical/Scientific field

Compensation
- $90,000 - $130,000 per year (salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data)
