Job Description

Magen David Yeshivah in Brooklyn seeks a Senior Technical Support Specialist to deliver hands-on IT support and day-to-day administration for applications and campus infrastructure at the Elementary School. The role involves cross-campus travel, on-site availability, and collaboration with IT leadership, reporting to the Director of Information Technology. The position offers a salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical support to the school community by managing daily tickets, prioritizing requests, following up, and documenting resolutions.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Director of Technology as needed.
  • Log every request in the ticketing system with thorough notes to build a knowledge base for future resolutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues to ensure end-user satisfaction.
  • Provision, troubleshoot, and deploy end-user devices including printers, VoIP phones, and workstation components.
  • Terminate cabling and coordinate wiring runs and replacements with facilities staff and external vendors.
  • Provision and deploy Windows computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and MacBooks using deployment tools and MDM platforms.
  • Create and manage user accounts in Google Workspace, Active Directory, Entra ID, Adobe, and other systems as required.
  • Maintain email distribution groups and mailing lists.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure, servers, network equipment, and on-site/off-site backups proactively.
  • Support and mentor Level 1 Technical Support staff.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including technical training for new hires.
  • Set up and operate A/V presentations and livestreams for events, assemblies, and faculty/committee meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of help desk or desktop support experience; experience in a K-12 or educational environment is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive troubleshooting proficiency across Windows, Chrome OS, and macOS at hardware and software levels.
  • Solid networking fundamentals and connectivity troubleshooting know-how.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki networking infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of managing Google Workspace users, devices, and policies.
  • 3+ years provisioning and managing devices with Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server roles/features.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ (or equivalent). Apple and Jamf certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with A/V equipment setup and operation, including OBS for livestreaming.
  • Photography and/or videography skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills; ability to assist users across age groups and skill levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate a multi-story building.
