Technical Support Engineer
Job Description
This role provides first contact technical support and technical leadership for offshore wind turbine service operations, with both remote troubleshooting and periodic onsite assistance. The position also supports continuous improvement through case management, process refinement, and data-driven safety and quality enhancements.

Experience and Education

Responsibilities
- Provide first-level remote technical troubleshooting and, as needed, periodic onsite support for turbine issues affecting service teams within scope; escalate or redirect to the appropriate technical specialists when required, with attention to commissioning timelines related to turbine controller.
- Create and manage technical cases, work orders, and Non-Conformities (NCs) related to updates for instructions, tools, and troubleshooting guides, as well as customer technical queries in line with project and quality processes.
- Support Work Orders (WO) readiness by defining priority and assist the back office purchasing team with tooling and spares lists to improve daily planning and execution.
- Coordinate daily planning calls with offshore vessels to support execution planning and optimize activities for the following day.
- Collaborate with design and technical support teams to develop troubleshooting guides that strengthen service technical independence and improve daily efficiency.
- Lead technical and operational improvements affecting main controller, HMI, and SCADA functions for technician operations and site-specific operations, including grid outages.
- Drive process improvements focused on digitalization, data analytics, and EHS compliance.
- Analyze operational data for continuous improvement in operational safety and quality, with special emphasis on warnings analysis and control improvements for overall warnings strategies.
Working Relationships
- Reports to the Technical Support Leader.
- Supports operations execution teams, including supervisors and technicians working locally in turbines and remotely in the Remote Operation Center.
- Maintains strong working relationships with the Control team within the Engineering organization.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or High school diploma and advanced Wind training and experience)
- 8 years of Offshore Wind Farm experience
Desired Skills
- Proven track record in wind turbine operation and troubleshooting is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of wind turbine systems, including electrical, mechanical, controls, and network and communication systems.
- Offshore wind experience is highly desirable due to logistical complexity and offshore operational challenges.
- Experience applying continuous improvement and quality tools to service operations.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and motivation, with ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication, goal-driven approach, and team-player skills.
- Ability to understand English for global procedures.
