Technical Support Engineer

Join Atlas Copco Comptec LLC and put your technical expertise to work supporting centrifugal compressors and rotating equipment. In this hybrid role in Houston, TX, you will help customers and field service teams resolve complex technical issues while keeping equipment performance reliable. You will report to the Field Service Manager and manage technical support activities across troubleshooting, documentation, root cause analysis, CRM tickets, and warranty support.

What you’ll do

• Act as a primary technical resource for customers and field service personnel, providing troubleshooting and support for centrifugal compressors and turbomachinery systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues, delivering timely, accurate, and well-documented solutions.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, vendors, and product companies to drive issue resolution and support customer needs.
• Manage technical support efforts, including documentation, corrective actions, root cause analysis, CRM tickets, and warranty-related support.
• Spot opportunities to strengthen field service processes, technical training, and customer support capabilities across the organization.

What you bring

• 10+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or maintenance of centrifugal compressors, rotating equipment, or turbomachinery.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience.
• Strong troubleshooting experience across mechanical systems, controls, and electrical components.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to support customers during urgent situations.
• Hands-on experience with centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, or other large rotating equipment.
• Experience with SAP, CRM systems, and the oil & gas or process industries.
