Telematics Technical Support Engineer

This onsite role in Mossville, IL brings together advanced telematics troubleshooting, dealer support, and collaboration across teams to help resolve complex issues for heavy equipment customers.

The Telematics Technical Support Engineer serves as a senior escalation resource for Tier 2 Customer Support, tackling complex and critical telematics problems across a broad portfolio of heavy equipment products used in industries worldwide. You will combine remote diagnostics with clear technical communication and cross-functional partnership to drive timely resolution.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Own escalated telematics tickets coming from Tier 2 Customer Support counterparts who need advanced technical expertise.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot telematics and connectivity issues remotely, working directly with dealers to gather required information and implement solutions.
• Handle routine issues independently while escalating critical cases internally and partnering with the Technology Service Engineering team to define guidance and next steps for Engineering.
• Collaborate with peers and coordinate with cross-functional Product Support and Engineering teams to resolve complex issues quickly.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience; internship experience is accepted.
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting theory.
• Electrical background with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Knowledge of J1939, Ethernet, and Modbus protocols.
• Ability to use multiple data sources, including AI tools, to research and solve technical problems.
• Strong technical communication skills, written and verbal.
