Tier 3 IT Support Technician
Job Description
Bedrock Technology is hiring a senior, hands-on Tier 3 IT Support Technician for an on-site daily in-person role in the Scranton, PA area (Jessup, PA).
- Resolve escalated incidents: own complex issues escalated from Tier 1/2, performing deep system-level investigation and root cause analysis
- Administer core infrastructure: manage and maintain servers (Windows/Linux), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Support network operations: troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall rules, switching, and routing in coordination with the network team
- Manage cloud and identity: administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Entra ID, and hybrid identity configurations
- Lead incident response: act as technical lead during major outages, coordinating resolution and communicating incident status to stakeholders
- Build and maintain documentation: write and update runbooks, KB articles, and SOPs to reduce repeat escalations and improve team efficiency
- Mentor junior technicians: provide guidance and training to Tier 1/2 staff to strengthen team capability
- Liaise with vendors: manage escalations and coordinate with third-party vendors and software support teams
- Drive continuous improvement: identify recurring issues and eliminate root causes through automation, process changes, and infrastructure improvements
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive IT support experience, including at least 2 years in a Tier 3 or senior systems role
- Windows Server expertise: deep experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- Directory and DNS/DHCP: strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Microsoft 365 administration: hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID
- Automation: proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and VPN technologies
- Virtualization: experience with VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
- Work organization: ability to independently manage and prioritize a complex, varied workload
- VoIP/UCaaS: hands-on administration experience (examples: RingCentral, Zoom, 8x8, Goto, Cisco, Mitel)

Preferred

- Scripting beyond PowerShell (Python, Bash, or similar)
