Job Description

Build and support secure Windows and Linux development environments in a cleared DoD setting at Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

Provision, image, and maintain Windows-based development, integration, and test systems
Support Linux systems (including RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar) across development and lab environments
Manage hardware provisioning and OS imaging for both Windows and Linux platforms
Support software testing by handling environment setup, configuration, and validation
Provide IT support for development and lab infrastructure, including troubleshooting and patching
Support RMF and cybersecurity activities, including STIGs/CIS alignment, evidence collection, and continuous monitoring
Maintain documentation for systems, imaging processes, and cybersecurity activities
Coordinate with developers, test engineers, system owners, and ISSO/ISSM personnel to keep environments ready and compliant

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship
Active Secret clearance
2+ years of experience in systems security
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience
Strong working knowledge of Windows system administration, imaging, and configuration management
Supplemental Linux administration experience and basic command-line operations
Practical experience with hardware provisioning and OS imaging processes
Familiarity with software testing support or test environment management
Ability to work closely with a development team and prioritize environment stability for engineering execution

Requirements

At least five years of experience administering Windows (Active Directory), macOS, and Linux environments, including command-line scripting and desktop productivity troubleshooting; enterprise macOS experience with hardware and OS deployment.
Experience with current Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) and scripting in Bash or Python.
Ability to manage hardware lifecycles and oversee hundreds of computers in a diverse environment.
Solid knowledge of security fundamentals (patching, encryption, firewalls) and translating security policies into operational procedures.
Strong incident assessment, communication, and documentation skills with a focus on improving post-incident processes.
Experience establishing endpoint inventories and lifecycle management with consistent configurations across diverse devices.
